Lending a hand for Bridgwater Foodbank
On 15 May 2024, around 90 MEH team members gathered for the MEH Away Day, rolled up their sleeves to pack 20 food parcels of various sizes for the Bridgwater Foodbank. Founded in 2013 by Keith Barnard, the Bridgwater Foodbank has been a vital resource for many individuals and families in need. This event not only highlighted the team’s dedication to community service but also underscored the ongoing need for support in our local areas.
The team collected £927 worth of groceries from ASDA Taunton, and supplies were then delivered to the event venue ensuring everything was in place for the team to get started.
Last Friday, the completed food parcels were delivered to the Bridgwater Foodbank. The team were thrilled with the outcome of their hard work and the positive impact they had made. Reflecting on the event, Foodbank Manager, Phil Jarman said, “We are incredibly grateful for the support from the MEH and Hinkley Point C teams for donating approximately 469.10kg of food to our centre. With rising inflation, more people rely on us for support, yet contributions from local supermarkets have declined significantly over the years. What we received today is a massive help and is truly life-saving for many people.
