MEH Alliance sponsors Bridgwater Carnival for the second year running

MEH Alliance is proud to announce its continued sponsorship of the Bridgwater Guy Fawkes Carnival 2024. After first becoming an official sponsor in 2023, the organisation has agreed to sponsor the 2024 souvenir programmes and DVD, marking the second consecutive year it has supported this iconic local event, and further strengthening its commitment to the Bridgwater community.

Bridgwater Guy Fawkes Carnival is the oldest carnival in the UK and is held annually on the first Saturday in November. It has the reputation for being one of the largest illuminated parades in Europe, and the event’s origins can be traced back to The Gunpowder Plot. The event is very much community driven and all involved are volunteers, and in the past two years carnival related activities have raised over £65,000 for local charities and good causes.

“We are seeing an increase in MEH employees associated with the Carnival, whether they’re participating or volunteering in one way or another,” said John Redmond, MEH Joint Venture Managing Director. “This is a great sign that we’re doing the right thing by supporting this local tradition and creating job opportunities for the people of Bridgwater.”

Dave Stokes, Publicity Director for Bridgwater Guy Fawkes Carnival, added: “We really value and appreciate our relationships with the local business sector and their involvement, and we would like to take this opportunity to thank MEH Alliance for their continued generosity and help.”

This year’s carnival is being held on Saturday 02 November, when the popular spectacle is set to illuminate the town’s streets once again.
