National Apprenticeship Week – meet Kayleigh Clatworthy

Kayleigh Clatworthy – Business Administrator (HR) Apprentice

Kayleigh grew up in Bridgwater and has lived in the area for over thirty years. After working in the health and care sector for over a decade, she wanted to retrain and is now a Business Administrator Apprentice with MEH Alliance, working within the HR team.

“I’m currently being retrained to become qualified personnel within the HR team following the end of my previous role. HR is an area I’ve dealt with for the majority of my career, but I have never actually been ‘in the shoes’ of someone working within the HR department.

Flexible working and great colleagues

“Typically, I’m based at SDC. However, I sometimes work from the site and home. Being a mother of two small children, the flexibility offered by MEH allows me to work and also look after my children – which is a win! I have a set list of tasks within my current HR rotation, plus day-to-day tasks, which are based around administration for the team. I’ve learned how the nuclear industry works, and most recently, ‘VLOOKUP’ function on Microsoft Excel!”

Advice to those looking for an apprenticeship within MEH

“If you’re thinking about it, especially retraining at a later age, just do it. Being a small part of the integral cog of building something that will create power for the next generation is exciting.”
